Description: This small trail is a public access to Mill Creek and Mussel Cove. It meanders through the woods to the site of an old tidal mill. According to Town historians, the mill first milled grain and eventually lumber. Natural Features: If the tide is right, you can see water rushing through a narrow gut separating Mill Creek and Mussel Cove. Several species of shore birds use this area as a feeding ground when the tide is low. Osprey and herons also frequent this area. Size: This is a short trail - about 0.2 miles. Location: The trail begins at the far end of Old Mill Road (which runs beside Skillins Nursery off Rte. 88). Parking: There is roadside parking for 2 or 3 cars. General Information:
This is an easy trail for families with small children. It is short and has rocky, grassy areas and clam flats (check Town Hall before digging). The area is different with various tide levels.
