Roll Call           Present and answering roll call: Kelly Fernald, Steve Hendry, John Henson, Bill McMahon, Satoria Pelton, Skip Varney


Item 1  Green Expo at Falmouth High School

·         The Falmouth Green Expo is scheduled for Wednesday, October 22 at the Falmouth High School

·         Bill and Bonny will staff a table for the Falmouth Recycling Committee

·         The word searches and recyclable quiz from previous events will be used (Bill will get materials and make copies)

·         John Henson will update the recycling demonstration board he made and Bill will pick up to bring to the Green Expo

·         Bill will pick up a compost bin and leaf bag and bring to the Green Expo


Item 2  Interpretation of Silver Bullet Survey Results

·         Questions submitted by Bonny Rodden re: silver bullet usage and alternatives were discussed

·         The alternatives for reducing the costs of silver bullets were discussed, but no recommendation was made at this meeting

·         Changes to the Transfer Station that could present new options were discussed

¬∑¬†¬†¬†¬†¬†¬†¬†¬† It was suggested that the discussion be brought to a Town Council workshop ‚Äď Bonny will be consulted for timing


Item 3   Recycling at TD Banknorth

·         Satoria mentioned that TD Banknorth is interested in expanding their recycling program for office workers on Route 100

·         The committee is interested in getting involved with the program expansion and consulting with TD Banknorth on options for the program and how the committee can help.

·         Satoria will let the committee know if/when TD Banknorth would like to meet with the committee


Item 4  Silver Bullet Transportation

¬∑¬†¬†¬†¬†¬†¬†¬†¬† Skip gave the committee data on the number of ‚Äėpulls‚Äô for silver bullets for 2007.

·         The City of Portland currently provides this service to the town.

High School = 12

Transfer Station = 178


Item 5 Agenda for November Recycling Committee meeting

             The next Recycling Committee meeting will be Monday, November 10, 2008 at 5:00 PM at Falmouth Parks & Public Works. 

·         Formalize committee’s interpretation of results and how they should be presented.

·         Plan for Town Council workshop presentation

·         Plan for work with TD Banknorth

·         Discuss other items for work plan.
