Maine Car Seat Inspection Stations and Checkup Events
A car seat inspection station is a car seat checkup event that is held at a regular location on a regular day and time every month. Certified child passenger safety technicians volunteer to assist families with the installation and use of their car seats. Please bring your car seat instruction manual and your vehicle owner's manual, if available. Car Seat Inspection Stations are open year-round inside heated buildings.
Free car seat checkup events throughout the state of Maine. The Keep ME Safe Car Seat Checkup Event trailer is fully equipped to conduct car seat inspection events in any location. All events are staffed by [ http://www.cpsboard.org/certification.htm ]Certified Child Passenger Safety Technicians. Please bring your car seat's instruction manual and the vehicle owner's manual, if available.
All car seat inspection stations and car seat checkup events are free. No appointment is necessary.
Please be aware of the event end time. Because an inspection can take 20 to 30 minutes depending upon corrections needed and incompatibility issues between the vehicle and the car seat, the last vehicle is taken 30 minutes prior to closing. Due to the popularity of the inspection station, there may be a wait time before the inspection can begin. If there are several vehicles waiting during the last hour of operation, we may have to turn vehicles away. We will strive to accommodate your needs but your patience and understanding is appreciated!
Certified Technicians are always welcome to participate! If you are a CPS Technician and would like to attend, please call 207-781-2610 or e-mail sgrace@town.falmouth.me.us Most of the events will have an instructor present for your recertification sign off needs.
