METRO to Hold Public Hearings
To Review Fare Increase
Greater Portland Transit District METRO is carefully reviewing financial alternatives to balancing its operating budget while minimizing the impact on its riders and the community.
METRO is scheduling public hearings on proposed fare modifications that would be effective, April 1, 2010. The new fares will be presented at the public hearings.

We encourage current riders, service providers assisting riders, business employers, and public transit supporters to attend these public hearings to express their views on proposed fare increases.
METRO, with bus ridership averaging 1.4 million annually, is Maine’s largest public
transportation carrier, providing bus service to Portland, Westbrook, Falmouth and the Maine Mall area of South Portland.
