Introduction by Councilors Pierce and Varney of zoning amendments to expand the OceanView Retirement Community Overlay District (RCOD) and to create the Elementary School Redevelopment District (ESRD).

ACTION: Schedule Public Hearing.
OceanView presented an update to the Council at the April 9 meeting on the work by the Implementation Team and the Zoning Team regarding the progress of the work to prepare appropriate zoning amendments to implement the agreement between the Town and OceanView.  The Council scheduled an introduction of zoning amendments for tonight's meeting. The amendments will include the expansion of the existing OceanView Retirement Community to include the proposed cottage and townhouse units (RCOD) as well as an amendment to implement the public/private partnership for the redevelopment of the school buildings and grounds (ESRD).  The tentative schedule for the zoning amendments is as follows:
  • May 14 - Public Hearing
  • May 16 - Planning Board Public Hearing
  • May 30 - Order
It is anticipated that the amendment for the ESRD may need further amendments as the Town and OceanView finalize the public/private partnership. Staff have determined that all required information has been submitted as required under Section 3.16.3.a.
