Order to authorize the Town Manager to enter into a Local Administration Project agreement with the Maine Department of Transportation related to road repaving on Route One.
ACTION: Council action is anticipated.
As part of the PACTS collector road paving program, a section of US Route One has been identified as a repaving project. It is tentatively scheduled for the 2012/2013 biennial funding cycle. The limits of the project are from Foreside Road to Bucknam Road. As part of the PACTS requirements, a local/state agreement between the Town and the State is required. In addition, this agreement outlines the guidelines for the Town to administer the project as a 'Locally Administered Project', or 'LAP'. LAP's are beneficial to municipalites because of better coordination at the local level and also result in cost savings to the overall project. A copy of the agreement is attached.
