The Council will discuss the Community Facilities project and:
  • receive an update from staff regarding possible lease interest by Child Development Services (CDS) in the Lunt or Plummer school building,
  • discuss the draft Request for Qualifications for public-private development of the Plummer-Motz and Lunt property,
  • receive an update from staff on the disposition of modular and portable classrooms at the Plummer-Motz and Lunt site,
  • review site/facility studies and location options for the Falmouth Memorial Library and determine if additional facility analysis is required,
  • review site/facility studies and location options for a Community Recreation Center and determine if additional facility analysis is required, and
  • determine its next steps in the Community Facilities Process.
ACTION: Council action is not anticipated
Summary
Public comment of up to 3 minutes will be allowed on the attached resolution. Several Town Councilors have indicated they will consider and support a procedural motion to suspend Council Rules so the public can ask clarifying questions or comment on any other matter listed under this agenda item.

The Town Council has been considering the needs of theĀ Falmouth Memorial Library, Town Hall, Food Pantry, Community Recreation Center, Pleasant Hill Fire Station, and Plummer-Motz and Lunt school site.

On November 22, 2010, the Council discussed and tabled a resolution regarding space needs for a Community Recreation Center and reviewed the capital needs of Town Hall.

  • Letter from Child Development Services, dated November 10, 2010;
  • Memo from staff regarding a discussion with Schiavi Leasing Corporation on the disposition process for modular and portable classroom buildings at the Plummer-Motz and Lunt site, dated December 6, 2010;
  • Memo from staff regarding discussions with developers on the draft Request for Qualifications (RFQ) for public-private development of community facilities, dated December 7, 2010;
  • Draft RFQ for public-private development of community facilities, dated November 4, 2010; and
  • Memo from staff regarding the proposed location of a Community Recreation Center, dated December 9, 2010.
Information from the Falmouth Memorial Library regarding the location and expansion options for the library, dated Decembver 10, 2010, has also been attached. (Added: Dec. 10th 4:25 PM)
