Public Hearing for Zoning Amendment to create a new use "Commercial School" and permit it in the Business Professional District (BP)
Summary:
The Council discussed a zoning amendment at the February 12 Workshop that would separate the treatment of commercial schools from retail establishments, create a definition for commercial school and add the use to the Business Professional (BP) District with the restriction of no more than 2,000 square feet of net leasable area. The term net leasable area would also be defined in the ordinance.  Councilor Payne introduced the amendment at the February 25, 2008,  meeting and the Council held a public hearing on March 24, 2008.
